Juvenile Community Correction

The JCC program is one of CYFD’s alternatives to

incarceration for youth on probation or supervised

release as it provides services to assist youth in

successfully discharging out of the Juvenile System.

What is the purpose of the JCC Program and

why should I participate?

  • A referral to the JCC Program can be made by the following:

Juvenile Probation Officer, District Court Judge, District

Attorney, Public Defender, Private Attorney, Juvenile

Correctional Facility or the CYFD Supervised Release Panel.

What is the purpose of the JCC Program and

why should I participate?

  • It is an alternative to incarceration

  • It provides me with an individual Case Manager who

can guide me in successfully completing probation or

supervised release requirements.

  • It provides me with a team of individuals who get

together for meetings to assure that I am on the right

track. This team is made up of my Juvenile Probation

Officer, my assigned JCC Case Manager, my family

and any one else who is important to assisting me

with the positive decisions I make in my life.

  • The Case Manager is able work with me on daily

activities such as learning new skills, searching for job,

building my social skills, helping me find community

service locations, assistance with school work,

tutoring and access other services offered within my

community.

How do I qualify for JCC program services?

  • I am a youth who has been charged with an offense

 and is now on probation.

  • I am a youth being released from CYFD Juvenile

Facility. (JCC Case Managers can start working with

me and my family even if I am currently

 incarcerated.)

  • I am a youth who is at risk of facing incarceration after picking up new charges while on probation.

Who makes the referral for me to participate in

the JCC program?

A referral to the JCC Program can be made by the following:

Juvenile Probation Officer, District Court Judge, District

Attorney, Public Defender, Private Attorney, Juvenile

Correctional Facility or the CYFD Supervised Release Panel

What are the types of services the JCC Case

Manager can offer my family and I?

  • Providing my family and I with support in navigating

the Juvenile System.

  • Helping me to develop a plan for my future

  • Helping me to learn new skills

  • Helping me to search for a job or building a resume

  • Helping me to find community service projects or

locations to complete my required hours of service

  • Transportation

  • Helping me with my educational goals

  • Assisting my family and I during my release from a

facility

  • Locating other services that would assist me with

success in my future plans within my own community
